What's Included?

  • Property to be mowed with eye-catching stripes (as the quality of your grass allows).

  • Grass clippings will be mulched, not bagged.

  • String trimming around trees, fences, and other landscaping.

  • Edging the driveway, sidewalks, and other hardscapes.

  • Blowing all grass clippings and debris off of driveway, sidewalks, and other hardscapes.

  • The best professional prices in the KC Metro. Most properties sized 1/2 acre or less will be $35 per cut. We recommend you compare this cost to and Both providers give quotes in about 5 minutes. Neither are sustainable services in any capacity. We recommend you ignore first cut discount gimmicks, as the price per cut will escalate quickly and you'll be stuck in a contract.

Service Plan Schedule

We'll cut your property weekly, with exception of early spring and late fall. (Reminder, we don't have contracts. You can stop service at any time, no questions asked.) We'll be on your property the same day every week, weather pending.

Service Schedule:

  • March: One cut either the last or second-to-last week

  • April thru September: Weekly Mowing

  • October: Bi-Weekly Mowing

  • November: Bi-Weekly Mowing (Including *Leaf Mulching)

  • December: One "cut" after last leaf falls

*Leaf Mulching

Our "cuts" in November and December are solely to address your leaves. We'll blow and clean all leaves from landscaping, then mow them over, chopping them up very finely. This adds essential nutrients back into your yard akin to grass clipping mulching (see below).

This is part of our default service plan (the cost per visit is the same as when we are cutting grass.) However, you're welcome to stop service at the end of October if you aren't interested in having you leaves cleaned out and mulched.

Alternatively, we offer actual leaf removal. This is a one time service and will likely cost more than the 3 visits included in the lawn mowing plan. With this service, we'll remove the leaves entirely and load them into a trailer.

"Mulched"? What's that? And why no bagging?

Mulching means we chop the grass clippings up very fine and they remain on your property. We do this for a number of reasons:

  • Mulching grass clippings provides more nutrients to your soil. As they break down, the clippings release essential nutrients like nitrogen, potassium, and phoshorus. This will dramatically improve the health of your lawn.

  • Bagging clippings is an extremely NON-sustainable practice. The bags used, be they plastic or paper, do not decompose and usually find their way to fill up landfills. This goes against everything we stand for at Verdant Blades.

  • In the rare occasion in which the clippings are visible following a cut, we will mow the property multiple times until the clippings are no longer visible.
